Captain and owner Harry has fished all his life on the Big Island of Hawaii and Kauai: Growing up in Hilo, Hawaii he was occupied with fishing and spearfishing. Graduating from Hilo High School in 1965 he attended the Queens Hospital School of Radiologic Technology and the St. Francis School Of Radiologic Technology. He briefly worked at the Hamakua Medical Infirmary as a X-Ray Technologist before entering the U.S ARMY and trained to become a helicopter pilot. Upon graduation as a pilot and warrant officer he served in the republic of Viet Nam in Chu Lai with the America Division. While flying in Viet Nam he was the recipient of two distinguished Flying Crosses, numerous air medals, and the Vietnamese Cross Of Gallantry. He also became a certified scuba diver with the National Association of Scuba Diving Instructors in its infancy.
Returning to Hawaii he served as an instructor pilot for the Hawaii National Guard, and also as an FAA flight instructor for Associated Aviation in Honolulu, Hi. He then began crop dusting sugar fields in the state ending up on the island of Kauai and started helicopter flightseeing tours. Obtaining his Coast Guard captains license in 1979 he started Napali Coast snorkeling excursions to complement his helicopter tours. Recreational fishing took up most of his spare time and in 1988 he started his Kauai charter fishing operation. Captain Harry has also received his certification as an open water scuba instructor from PADI International.
He graduated from the University Of Hawaii West Oahu with a degree in Business Administration.
Captain Alapai Toulon
Local boy Alapai is a graduate of Kauai High School and attended Colorado State University and Montana State University graduating from Montana State with a degree in Business Marketing. His love for the outdoors and the sea saw employment with ocean snorkeling tours and eventually the Happy Hunter II as Captain. He is an avid spear fisherman also certified as a scuba diver by PADI INTERNATIONAL and a bow hunter.
